I have had sand in my tank for a while but now i'm looking for a change and looking towards Tahitian moon black sand. But i can only find it in 20lb bags so anyone know how many i would need for a 48" x 12" tank to have a covering of about 1" 1/2 ?

yeah it do's look like cauliflower and is a grey pink colour

Hi i have a problem with green algae that seems to take over my tank a few weeks back i added a fluval 305 for about 4 days the tank was crystal clear then it started to go green . It started about 4 inch from the bottom then seemed to go up in bands then getting darker each day then i have...

so how would i go about adding the external filter ? will i be ok running the under gravel and the fluval at the same time to mature the fluval?

Hi I'm thinking of getting a Fluval 205, would this be suitable for a 48"x15"x15" ? At the moment i have an under gravel filter with 2 power heads, would an external be any better.... Secondly would i be able to run them both for a while to mature the external filter.
