hi i'm looking at getting a 55 gallon tank but the problem is the position of the tank in the room would mean that the joists would run with the long side of the tank and it would miss going on the joists by about 3" on the front and back but would be placed next to a supporting wall would the boards be able to take the weight if not is there a way round it?
Thanks TERRY

You can put some lengths of wood under the legs and have them running across the floor boards. You can also use big squares of wood under each leg. This will help distribute the weight more evenly over the floor boards. Try to use wood that is about 1 inch thick.

thanks for the reply colin manged to get some 1' 1/4 marine ply so will use that
