Fluval 205

Hi I'm thinking of getting a Fluval 205, would this be suitable for a 48"x15"x15" ?
At the moment i have an under gravel filter with 2 power heads, would an external be any better....
Secondly would i be able to run them both for a while to mature the external filter.

personaly, i think canister filters are the best.
yea i would say the 205 would be better than an UG.

Yup, definately recommend the 205, I have a 204 and it does a great job. Although, if you are heavily stocked you might consider the 305 instead.

so how would i go about adding the external filter ?
will i be ok running the under gravel and the fluval at the same time to mature the fluval?

yep that will be ok. just run them both for about a month to be safe and then u can remove the u.g. filter
