    i've used gravel in my tank and my plants love it they have all rooted and have grown realy well. I now can take cuttings for my next tank. growing them on in my hospital tank at the moment. Also good to have replacements for when my fishy mates eat them.

    sorry can't see pics but my swordtail pops out babies all the time if she isn't pregers now she soon will be. As long as the other tank mates are friendly they don't seem to bother the babies unless shes popping out loads and i just see the survivors.

    Hi Fishyfish, The books recommend a water change of 25% weekly and i would definatly get a tester kit there about a fiver. Also have you been giving the fish a varied diet blood worm etc. They also like shelled peas sort lettuce etc. My fish love shelled sweetcorn

    Gourami's

    i have 2 blue 1 peal and 1 yellow gourami and they are georgeuos though the blues can be a bit territorial so they need a decent sized tank. I also got some paradise fish, never again they are realy mean fish had to take them back even though they wern't that big just plane nasty.

    tetra tank

    Harlequins are realy nice fish but they might get a bit big after a while but in a shoal they are realy attractive and easy to keep. Lemon tetras are also nice their anal fin goes a lovely bright yellow as they mature grows to about 2inches.

    new tank

    :D Hi teknix you can use some water from your old tank to speed up the process and if you buy second hand a realy strong solution of marine salt will sterlise the tank. I used it in my hospital tank that had been stuck in out outhouse for years and it worked fine.
