Easiest Way To Clean A Fluval 306 Cannister Filter?

might not be anything to do with this make of filter, but when removing the lid make sure all valves controlling the flow of water are open first this will solve the problem if it's anything like my Eheim canister.

    Eheim 2213 Low Flow

when cleaning air can become slightly trapped.   try giving a gentle shake when up and running again doing this gently a few times helps. also make sure you are priming the canister correctly before switching unit back on.

    How Much Do You Feed?

they will feed and feed as they are built to garb as much as they can when its available. it's up to you and i to regulate feeding because of things like water issues when fish are in a confined space. they often put that feeding rule on the packets of food. when feeding people say that you...

    Quick External Filter Question

i run a 2217 which has a rate of 1000 liters per hour (that will be slightly less as thats the rate they give with no media i think) on my 40 gal and does a good  job.   so having 2 of these plus the 2227 thats got to be almost 3000 lph for your 90 gal tank , 90 gal is roughly 360 liters so...

    Spray Bar Or Not?

raising the water will help but ideally you need to get another bit of pipe long enough to take it to where you need it , try and level it out i have these filters you really want the spray bar as it directs the water back to the intake plus if you don't have an air pump you need to use this...

    Fluval 306 Media

i run bio home filter media from them and haven't had a single problem so i rate it highly.   no need to run carbon in a healthy running tank so that's fine to remove.   try to have the bio home at the last stage of filtration so that all the muck and mess is removed as much as possible before...

    Filter Advice

i run eheim and cant fault it.   do you run filter floss (very fine media) as this can clog quickly reducing flow?   when starting a new filter you need to get as much filter media as possible from old one and drop it into new and you're ready to go or you can set up another one running i guess...

    First Timer Filter Question

another thing to maybe keep in mind is to have your filter set up so the first stage hit by the water is a coarse sponge then medium then fine.
