Beautiful betta's. I'm not a big fan of pink but that betta is totally rocking it!    Sorry for your loss though. Hard to lose any pet, even the fishy ones. 

Beautiful snakes!   How big do these usually get? I've thought about getting a snake but I want something that doesn't get huge.

I don't think so but I'm not even 100% positive on it. Personally I think it's inhumane for the fish. I don't even like betta's in those little containers. 

    What I meant is they dont do well in big tanks because it will most likely be a community.  Bettas are not recommended for communities.   Bettas fins may also tear if they swim alot. Esp. the longfins.  Their tails sort of slow them down.   Ah, I see. Yeah, since I've gotten back into fish...

You need to do weekly water changes. Did you cycle the tank first before adding fish??? There is information about fishless cycling and fish in cycling on this forum. It's very helpful. If your tank isn't cycled then this is probably going to end up being a fish in cycle and you need to do more...

Betta's do great in bigger tanks.   However, most don't do well in community tanks. 

Yeah, I'm going to stop the salt.    I'm just glad it wasn't fin rot but then now I have this problem of tail biting. 

Some of the other fins started to do the same thing and that is why I am getting more worried about it. I'm almost half tempted to ditch the whole idea of a divided betta tank and get two five gallons for them. I just don't have the money currently.

Ich is not hard to get rid of. It's just keeping an eye on the fish with a lot of TLC. I used the heat and aquarium salt method. All my fish are now ich free. Pretty positive my betta Hades has fin rot.   I've tested the water this week and everything seems good. The nitrates even went down some from where it was. I did a big water change today and going to test the tank tomorrow.    I know I need to add more plants and such to keep the stress down...

You sure they are fighting? They will sometimes chase each other but not really hurt each other. 

Wow, I've never heard of them being that aggressive. Mine are both pretty sweet towards me. Will come up to the front of the tank when I enter the room like they are waiting to be fed.

Yeah, it's not even at all. I realized it after I put the sand in and I don't know about moving it now.    Yes I have a filter on the tank, it's next to the heater. I'm going to get a sponge filter and put in on Kratos side. So they can have extra filtration.

I'd go with the cory cats. They are fun to watch and I don't think you have to worry about them going after your betta.

Really? I took a dead fish and four live fish back recently to petsmart. Craziness.  I think the same. I probably would have to double check with a friend of mine though. She used to work at Petco.

What kind of pet store has a no return policy is my question? Even the mom and pop fish store I go to has a return policy. I wouldn't deal with people like that but it's just my opinion. Hopefully you can return the fish and get the one you wanted.
