Sand Or Gravel?

Have currently got 3-4mm gravel in my tank. I want something smaller as I now have geos.
Do I use a mixture of sand and fine gravel?
Can I just use sand from bunnings?
Help please

I used pool filtration sand, sinks really well. I wouldn't mix it in with the gravel. You can get this sand from stores like clark rubber.

I agree with Discuslove. Pool filter sand is awesome!
