    Bolivian Rams, Too High Ph?

they should be fine with that pH, just take your time and acclimatise them carefully. test the lfs water and see how much it varies from yours if any and if a big difference then take a bit longer to settle them in to your water parameters (this goes for any fish tbh not just BR's) i keep a...

    Spongy Stuff

an absolute pain to remove all of it without damaging the roots. get as much off as poss and then plant the plants. it wont harm the fish. as said above it does come apart much better when wet and under a tap or in a bucket

    Ornate Tetra Stocking

depending on your plans i cant see any issue with a group of about 7. they are very active tetra and do get to a decent size with their deep bodies so dont go too mad with numbers.... they are also quite a fiesty tetra so too few and you may get singled out fish.

    Trade Bolivians For Gbrs?

If you do return them turn please don't do it within the next couple of weeks if they have whitespot. Wait until its completely cleared and you are sure you won't spread it into the lfs tanks. Be responsible.....

    Whats Happening To My Plants?

this is my lighting up times. how much would you say to reduce? light 1 - on at 1500, off at 2200 light 2 - on at 1520, off at 2230 light 3 - on at 1600, off at 2300 all lights are equal in power. just to add the tank is also near a window so gets quite a bit of light anyway but i have the...

    Trade Bolivians For Gbrs?

the GBR as stated will require acidic and high temp water to thrive, this is why many people keep them with discus. personally i would stick with the bolivians as it will be easier to stock around them compared to the GBR. young bolivians will need time to mature and get the colouration, juvi...

by lowering the light do you mean the time its on or the amount of light? im currently not dosing anything but wont adding ferts get expensive in a tank of this size? more water changes? i already do 50%+ per week, or do you mean more frequent changes? surface agitation is huge due to there...

    Whats Happening To My Plants?

Not all. The sword in the pic is the worst but I have a few holes appearing on some anubias too... the windelov seems to be losing lots of leaves too as they are going brown quite fast. Me and plants just don't work..... I have a spare eco-aqua light that I can add if this will help.

i guess it depends on how you look at it. if they last as long as they say they will be no more expensive than a starter and T8 tubes over the time period.

    Whats Happening To My Plants?

if you want to raise the fry then do as minnnt states and remove the eggs and whatever they are stuck to. the other alternative is to remove the fish and leave the eggs where they are. if you remove the eggs then fill their new home with tank water from the original tank and keep using the...

    Fishless Cycle Blues

Have you been monitoring your pH levels at all? It's very common for a drop in pH during a cycle which can bring the process to slow down considerably. Higher pH water will normally cycle a filter faster as will a warmer tank.

Mts - Are They Plant Eaters?

the plants have been in since feb/march and all seemed quite well with good growth etc. but over the last few weeks ive got a very holey sword thats beyong saving i think and a few appearing in my anubias, my windelov also doesnt seem to be as happy as it was.... im doing nothing different and...

Mts - Are They Plant Eaters?

i seem to be getting lots of tiny holes appear in my plants and can only put it down to MTS munching on them. i only have low light plants like swords, anubias and ferns which were doing great but as i say they are covered in small holes. non of my fish are eating the plants so could it be the MTS?

    Angelfish Tank Mates

fuller bodied tetras like colombian, rosy, bleeding heart etc are a great choice as dithers for an angel tank. as angels get bigger they may try and eat more slim torpedo bodied fish such as neons but if you can get larger species with this shape body such as cardinals or emperor tetras they...
