Lost Fish

Hi

I just got three Boeseman rainbow two female and a male last week all doing fine. got home today and cant find one female looked everywhere its not small about two inches so should not be hard to find. there is only one place that i cant see into and thats a cave.

Are they known to jump i have a small cut out from the lid where the skimmer used to be when it was a marine tank.

And was just wondering if it has jumped out and gone behind the tank.

No unfortunately its a drain pipe with rocks buits around it and covered in sand.

Any chance of being able to shine a torch beam through it or using a waterproof flexible light?

I have tried as it is a u shape cave with two entrances i can see into it apart from the middle.

But i have not seen the rainbow fish anywhere near the cave since i have had then. its not that big entrance only a couple of inches.

Well there are only two places it can be - either inside the tank and its peripherals or outside.
Has the poor thing been sucked up into your filter system?

Just found it dead right at the back inbetween some plants.

now have to find out how it died.
