    Fish Grouping

Most of the fish that you mentioned are schooling fish. Get at least 3 more barbs, at least 3 more tetras, and at least 3 more panda catfish. (I'm assuming you mean corydoras?) That should do the trick. ;) Good luck.

    Kribensis Pair Fighting?

Thanks. I moved the fry (because they were harassing the female) and put the male back in. They are a pair again, but like you said, I don't know how long it will last. The female's so far already fattening up.

    Kribensis Pair Fighting?

Hey guys. I have a pair of kribs, and they have had fry twice already. They are raising the second batch right now, and they are about 2 weeks free-swimming. Yesterday, my male started chasing my female away. If she got near, he would chase her back, even nip at her. She got extremely stressed...

    Coconuts As Kribensis Caves

They are great! You have to put a little bit of effort into making them, but it is well worth it once they are made! My Dad has made 3 for me so far, which makes 6 caves. (More, if you cut them into quarters instead of halves)Really, they are well worth it, my kribs go in them all the time, as...

    Venting Electric Yellows?

So then I have two females. There's only two I'm trying to vent. Weird thing is, one of them is holding eggs.

    Electric Yellow Holding?

Hey guys. I came home today to find one of my electric yellows holding eggs. The thing is, I have 5 other electric yellows (4 juveniles I got from an expo, and one old one that I got at the same time as the one that's holding) and the one that's holding is being really aggressive to the other...

    Venting Electric Yellows?

Thank you! That's what I thought as well! There's actually only two larger ones, and 4 smaller ones, so I'm pretty sure I have 2 females on my hands! Which was exactly what I was aiming for when I bought them from the store. :) Once the 4 small ones grow up, I'll vent them, and I'm hoping for 3...

    Venting Electric Yellows?

Hi guys. I have 6 electric yellows in my 57 gallon aquarium, 4 of which are juveniles that I got from an auction. The other two are full grown, and one is really aggressive towards the other one. I made the mistake of not getting the guy at the pet store to vent them for me (and I didn't vent...

    2 Worrisome Problems

Thank you. Do you know what could be wrong with the krib fry with the bloated mouths? They are still eating and producing waste, but it looks like they're in pain or at least uncomfortable. And what's a good time to move the fry to their own grow out tank? Thanks, -f_f!

    2 Worrisome Problems

Hey guys. About a month ago, my kribs had 30 fry, and they have been free-swimming for 3 weeks now. I noticed today something odd, however - a few of the fry have REALLY bluged out mouths, to the point where they can't even close them. It looks like something it stuck inside, something...

    Microworms And Fry

Thank you. My betta fry just became free-swimming, and after putting a small amount of microworms in the tank, I realized how big (or rather long) they looked. The fry really didn't show interest in them either.

    Microworms And Fry

Are microworms too big for newly free-swimming betta fry to consume? Microworms are pretty long... Thanks in advance, -f_f!

    New Boy :)

My VT male never flares either. In fact, he's so docile that I can keep him with livebearer fry and he doesn't bother them. (Only when they are first born will he bother them) Your guy is beautiful, good luck with the treatment. :/ Oops, I just read that he's better now - that's good. :) :good:

    Medium Sized Schooling Fish

Cory cats school. I once had 8 of them, and they all hung out together. It's really neat to watch.

    My Mollies Getting Fat

I have never had a molly eat her own fry before, let alone bother them, so it would probably be safe to let her drop in the main tank. After she drops, you can move the fry to your fry tank, or just leave them with the other mollies, if they don't bother them. I have raised many batches of...

Please Tell Me What Should I Start With As A Food For My Baby Black Ly

With livebearer fry, it's good to do a 10% daily water change. Also, since mollies need a lot of vegetable matter in their diet, you can give the fry crushed up spirulina flakes, as well as boiled, de-shelled, mushed up peas. Live BBS provides a lot of protein, so if you could feed them that at...

Electric Yellows In A 57 Gallon

Electric Yellows In A 57 Gallon

Hey guys! My 57 gallon is cycled, and I want to add fish slowly. I have 1 medium sized bristlenose pleco in there right now, and I soon want to add an Electric Yellow. But I have a question; I want to eventually have a trio in there, but I only want to buy them one or two at a time, that way I...

    Pleco Eating Sand?

I am not sure. It is pretty young, so I'm guessing not. It doesn't have any bristles though, it's definitely a bristlenose plec, however. I do think it's a female.

    Pleco Eating Sand?

Hey guys. I am just starting to stock my 57 gallon, since it's now cycled. I started with one small bristlenose pleco. The substrate is play sand. I noticed that after him being in there for a while, he became bloated. I haven't fed him since he's been put in. He was put in yesterday. Is it...

Yup, Kribs Have Laid Yet Again, Lol

Those are ramshorns that you have. I just have pond snails. They don't get as big, but they breed even more readily. I suppose that since the snails didn't eat/destroy the bettas' eggs that I had, they won't bother the krib eggs. (I hope.... :/)

Yup, Kribs Have Laid Yet Again, Lol

What kind of snails are they? Because I have a million pond snails in my 39 gallon, and my kribs just laid eggs, so I hope they don't eat them... :/ I already took the bristlenose plecs out.... Thanks & congrats. :) -f_f!

    Kribs Laid Eggs!

I came home today to see my female krib in my 39 gallon with a protruding white dot near her anal area. She quickly dashed into a coconut cave nearby, and started laying some eggs! The male was close behind her, fertilizing them. I am really surprised that they bred - they are pretty young, and...

    Betta And Kribs/rams

I keep a female betta with my kribs. The female, who is very territorial, only bothers the betta if she gets near her at the bottom of the tank. The female betta is stressed though when she is by herself.
