Yesterday at Petco, there was the sweetest little pale green female betta that I wanted to bring home. . .Today, I decided to go back and get her, but instead found another that's a bit less frail than the first that I saw. She's got very dramatic stress lines on her but is active in her new tank.
For about an hour, she was slowly acclimated with tank water and just let into her tank 15 minutes ago and is VERY curious. Surprisingly, after just a few minutes, she swam up and took a blood worm from my finger. She's just under 1" long and so the worm was too big and she swam around with it sideways partically out of her mouth on each side and she looked like she had a moustache!!! lol
The tank is uncycled. I debated bringing home a betta to an uncycled tank, but decided to because so often bettas aren't treated too well by shops/new owners and I thought with how many get sick and die in the store, chances are a pale female betta will ended up that way, not being as "desirable" as the flamboyant males! Hopefully it was the right decision.
She's in a 5-gallon, heated, Whisper 5-10 gallon filter.
Yah! Exciting to have a new little one. Will post photos once she's destressed a bit in her new home.
