Pic? Is your tank cycled? Water parameters? Water conditions? What Food? What Filtration? Is it just an Oscar? How old is it? How long have YOU had it?
It’s part of the hobby in some ways, but the beginners do not setup a tank correctly and don’t cycle it or chose appropriate tank mates. Those fish dying are not part of the hobby. When one of my fish die (usually from old age) I scoop them out and flush them. Don’t give it a second thought.
Water sprite along with many others are low light plants, you will need some type of fert. For a beginner with just a few easy plants I recommend SeaChem flourish. But if you want to add mire you might want to look into something better like nilocg thrive.
Skip the dwarf gouramis, they will most likely end up killing each other. I would get 2 trios of pearl gouramis , a clown pleco, 15-30 corries, and a couple schools of a smaller fish.
