I raised 3 in a 55 gallon tank years ago and when they grew large I gave them to friend with a pond so they would have a better life.

Hi and Welcome. Koi fish are pond fish. They can grow up to a foot and a half long or larger. Some live up to 30 years. They are egg layers and spawn several times in Spring, with hundreds of fry not being unusual..
