Hi All,

New to the Bioorb world :) Ive had aquariums in the past with no issues. My query is, I currently have 10mm round pea gravel in the tank, pretty much a week after getting the tank the water is cloudy. I have a new filter and carbon stones in it and ive moved all the gravel away from the filter to see if that helps but has made no difference. I am also adding drops to break down fish waste. I only have two fish in it and at the moment Im doing a water change once a week. Can anyone advise how I get clear water?

If I need to switch the pebbles for the bioorb media ceramic thats fine, how much should I buy for this size tank? Also what are good alternatives?

Thanks for your help in advance :)

Hello and welcome to the forum! :hi:

Are you just looking for pea gravel? You really shouldn’t need that much, maybe a 5lb bag.

Also, I’m pretty sure black moors need more room than just a 15L.

You need to rehome them immediately. They need A tank 10x that size, at least 150l or 40 gallons.

Not sure what the drops are but they are likely to be a marketing gimmick. It may even be a cause of the cloudiness. Water changes deal with fish waste so additives are unnecessary. Change 75% of the water twice a week, make sure the new water is chlorine- free.
It's possible that the filter is not working with the pea gravel. If I'm remembering correctly I used 2 bags of biorb media in a 30 litre, so 1 bag might be enough for you. An alternative is alfrafrog which is sold in 2kg bags which will be more than enough, use the biggest chunks.

There is a sticky on this forum, which I suggest you read

Did you rinse the pea gravel before adding to tank? the clouding may also be a bacteria bloom which will go away , did the cloudiness start right away or a few days after adding the pea gravel? Also I agree with others above about your choice of fish. I would return them and research what type of fish you can have depending on your tank size and water conditions (hard water vs soft water)

In 15 litres (4 gallons), there are very few fish which are suitable, I'm afraid. In soft water a betta would work, but I can't think of any hard water fish that would be suitable.
