As long as there is other fish around he should be fine. Oh and by the way you already have 2 cichlids in your tank. Angels belong to the cichlid family.. He should be fine solo.

Rams or Kribs would be your best choice, the larger cichlids are more aggressive then the dwarf cichlids. You could try a single firemouth with your community tank and it may work out fine. I have done it in the past with no troubles. But there is always a chance it will not work, alot depends...

Yes its too bad there are so many childish and inmature people that think because they own a tank they know more then people that have had these fish for years. And those are usually the same people that show back up later crying about losing fish and asking what went wrong and why.

wash them several more times with out soap. and leave them out to dry for a day or so and if there is any soap residue left it should dissappear

Ok this may sound wierd but could he have swallowed a rock? And have it stuck in his swim bladder? I've seen this posted in forums before but never attempted it myself. So take this for what its worth. Pick him up if you can, hold him head down and try to gently shake him and /or gently rub...

sounds like a possible swim bladder problem.. but im not sure. How old is he? size? ect? does he look injured?

What are your fish?? and yes 6 cichlids in a 20 is not a good thing. Without knowing any other info I would say yes definately return them to the LFS there are very few cichlids that i can think of that would do well in a 20 gallon tank solo in adulthood much less with 5 other tankmates...

Shizat is correct..plus if it was a reptile tank im not sure that all the cleaning in the world will remove all the chemical from the waste of the lizard.. My understanding is it often obsorbs into the sealant on the tank and is there to stay..unless you remove the old sealant and reseal it..

by electric yellows im guessing you are referring to labs?? firemouthes are new world fish and labs are african. It is not recommended to mix the two types. To put it simple the 2 types vary in diet, H2o chemisrty and their aggression are very different and its not a good idea for a beginner...

I definately think they have more personality in general then other tropicals.. I suggest if you dont already have one to get a pot, hollow log, ect anything to provide him with a cave.. The 1 I have and most of the ones I had like someplace to hide and chill out in..

by including the water from your LFS you increase the chances of introducing a disease to your tank plus it can affect your water chemistry as well.

damn thats messed up they should have more sense at the LFS then to do something like that.. it got too big for someones tank I bet and they took it in on a trade. but still that too little space.
