I purchased 10x Assasin Snails off the net, and within a week, my tank was rid of snails (except the Assasin's), also they breed very slowly, and when they do, you can sell them on! I had all different types, mostly Tadpole Snails and MTS.

Not really been cycled then. Keep up with water changes ie 10% a week is a winner for me. Also, be sure to use a Gravel Vac to get rid of all the bad stuff

I always used to get it on the smaller tanks, until I turned the bubbles down, and actually took the stone off

Try a slice of Cucumber in the tank at night, in the morning, it will be covered!

Bump! Male died last night, but the female is still as fat, one fry dropped to the bottom, with its head seperate to its body. The female is huge from front to back and has another fry hanging out, can see the eyes but nothing else is happeneing :(

Are you running a Air Pump, i find that if mine is turned on strong, it makes it drip off the glass and down the side, but Ive now got condensation trays in there and dont have the problem now!

Ha Ha, no need to be sorry, it was 2 cheap fish that I bought, to finish the cycle off. But ill give it a waterchange and then ill get some zebra danios

It had cycled, i had a peak in the readings, then it went back down, it wasnt a 100% cycled tank i dont think, oh well. Don't think they were healthy in the first place though.

Its actually got worse, and seams to have got bigger, spreading downwards, and a cotton wool like growth. Its rock salt i added, the stuff i got with the Brine Shrimp Kit.

I've dosed the tank with a Anti White Spot + Fungus. Got Mitchetline(sp?) Green in it, among other chemicals. And put a small amount of salt inside the tank.

Its starting to grow, almost like cotton wool ? :S

Nothing Sharp in the tank, its a basic 5mm Pea Gravel, heater with a plastic protector and a box filter in the corner, no cotton wool like, but the wound is red and white in colour. And there wasnt any sign of it when i bought her.

Hiya All, think ive got an issue with my spare tank, i tested the water after cycling and it was all correct, so i got 2 Guppies to put in there. They were both healthy, but this morning the Female now has a large scar/open wound on her head and is at the bottom of the tank. Any Ideas?

So i noticed that my 70l Tank Filter has given up. :( Nothing at all on the sponges, and after testing the readings were all bad :o So as a temporary mesure ive placed a mature sponge air driven filter in there, now the readings after an hour were back to normal. But now the question is, what...

Dont add any more fish otherwise it will spike much higher than with the amount of fish you have in there now!. Keep an eye on the Tests, and if its all suitable, add a couple more fish each week, dont add too many at a time, as I found out! The Bubbles will cover everything until it has all...
