I assume your talking about a jewel cichlids, they would do better in south american cichlid water but can live with those species. Most of those fish need at least a 4ft.

Also I read that it's in a betta's nature to build a bubble nest regardless if he's happy or not.

I don't think your underfeeding, although I feed my fish everyday, especially my young fish or fry. It's in their nature to be looking for food all of the time. If I fed my fish every time they were looking for food then they would be very very fat.

I agree with KittyKat, none of the fish you named are suitable for your tank except maybe the convicts.

The water won't help but some of your dirty filter sponge will.

I'm not sure on livebearers but if you want to get some experience with egg laying species then try convicts. You won't make any money but it will build up some experience.

I agree with the above, when I had my molly fry for sale, none of my lfs would buy, I just gave them away. I find my lfs are stingy when buying fry of people, I had better luck with ebay. Try and breed a rarer species of cichlid or try an oddball.

Just because a fish is not aggressive, does not mean it wont eat tankmates. Well the fish probably won't make it into adult hood because it would die of being in such a small tank, I recommend you rehome it and the angel fish. Get another 3 tetras and a couple more male guppies, rehome the frog...
