Hello,    RCS do tend to breed like crazy so your not alone with your problem, have you thought about donating some to a local fish store? they may even give you some store credit for the shrimp.    Or you could donate them to other fish keepers if you know of any.

    Overrun With Snails

Hello,    It only takes 1 snail to hitchhike into your tank and before you know it you will have hundreds, The way I get rid of them is to drop a piece of lettuce in the tank over night, then in the morning it will be covered in snails, remove it and repeat till the snail numbers drop. You may...

Water Change - Pump Vs Pour

Hello,    Every Sunday morning I do my 50% water change, I just use a bucket and pour the water on to the cross brace that runs across the middle of the tank. This breaks the water up so that nothing in the tank is disturbed, I cant say if the fish mind or not because I cant see them when the...

Tetratec Ex700 Or Ex1200 For 120L Jewel Tank

Hello and welcome to the forum,    First off it is nice to see that you are upgrading your tank to house the 2 fantails, however a 125L tank is still to small for 2 fantails IMO, you want at least a 200L tank for them both.    That being said if you are going to keep them in the 125L go for the...

    Jbl Permanent Co2 Test Kit

The best thing to do if any did find its way into your tank would be a nice big water change.   I once managed to let go of a drop checker whilst removing it from my tank and the solution mixed with my tank water, immediatly did approx 80% water change and did not have any issues with my fish or...

Help My Electric Rams At Bottom On Tank! :(

Electric Blue Rams are VERY sensitive fish and if not kept in the correct conditions will likely not last very long.    Can you tell me the PH, GH and also if possible the TDS level is in your tank and what temperature is the water?   At the moment all I can suggest is to do a large water change,

    Cory Catfish Disappeared

Well your dog could have eaten it, but only likely if your tank was open top.    I lost a gold ram once from my open top tank and my dog was sat in front of the tank looking pleased with himself!! Tetratec Ex700 Refuses To Prime

If you are still having difficulties try shaking the canister backwards and forwards to try and help it prime, you may have to do this quite violently to get it going but it should work after a while of shaking/rocking.     It takes patience but the water will reach the tank eventually

    Help With Lighting

8 hours will be fine, your bulbs should be fine.   If you are going to dose Excel you want to use a fertilizer which contains N&P which Seachem Flourish does not. I would recommend Tropica Specialized Fertilizer if you dont want to mix your own.

Danios Eating All The Food, Tetras Spitting It Out

Hello and   to TFF   Try pre soaking the food in a bit of tank water, then use something to squirt some food lower down in the tank (I use a turkey baster) and also drop some at the surface. This way both types of fish should be able to feed.

Anybody Know How To Do An Iwagumi Or Any Amano Style Scape?

The best advice I can give you is just to look at a lot of different iwagumi scapes on the internet and gain ideals from that.    Then once you have all your hardscape ready try lots of different arrangements intill you find one that you like. Substrate For Planted Tank?

If you are going to use sand with any of the substrates I have mentioned the sand will end up working its way under the substrate so not really a good ideal im afraid    And remember these substrates will leach ammonia so if you already have fish in your tank you will have to be prepared to do a...

    Substrate For Planted Tank?

Dirt would cloud the water but most people who use it add a cap on top (Sand or gravel) to help reduce the clouding.    I also use Eco complete in 2 of my tanks with good results but would say the substrates I have listed above are superior.

    Substrate For Planted Tank?

Hello,    There are various different options on the market, IMO the best are the type that are made from clay because they contain a lot of nutrients from new and will also soak up nutrients that you dose into the water column. Some of the clay substrates will leach ammonia from new for up to a...

    Filter Nozzle Position

Hello,    The nozzle should be placed just under the surface pointing upwards so that a gentle ripple is created at the surface, this will be sufficient so that the water is originated. You should not hear any splashing if you get the position right.    What filter are you using? If you are...
