What Substrate Do You Have In Your Shrimp Tank?

Right now, fluval stratum, but only because it was lying around. The colour does work well with the shrimp though.

I got this substrate specifically designed for shrimp. Its supposed to buffer the water to create the right ph and such. I hate it. It's messy, doesn't hold the plants down well. I recommend not getting it. All I remember is it is made by Fluval. I would have been better off going with the plant substrate I use in my big tank.

Its called Fluval Shrimp Stratum.

Not sure if this counts but I have got small gravel in my brine shrimp tank.

Fluval Stratum,

Got given it by a friend.

Do you guys like that fluval stratum?

Seems fine as substrates go. I get it mixed up with Colombo florobase to be honest, but the Colombo is cheaper. I personally didn't find it all that messy and it's like a lot of aquasoils in that it's sometimes a challenge compared to gravel to get the plants to stay put, but once they're rooting they stay put just fine.
