    Advice

You could, but the female would be very stressed from constant attention from the male. If you would just like a pair get 2 males.

    Cfl Or Incandescent?

With 2-25 watt cfl you should be able to keep swords, crypts, anubias, Hygrophillia and vallisineria, just to name a few. What size aquarium is it.
  3. thereverendturtle

    Stocking

One of the rice fish species would be awesome. A group of 6 would be ideal.

    30g Cichlid Stocking

Attach java to the wood, it will slowly cover it and looks nice.

    Advice

A 5-10 aquarium will hold a trio of guppies and a pair of frogs. A small sponge or internal filter and a small heater would be all you need. For decorations, sand and plastic plants work well. To tell the difference between adf and acf just look at the feet. They are webbed on the adf and not...

Ideas For Tweaking Biocube Filter Intake For Shrimp?

You can cut a slice through a piece of filter sponge, then slip it over the over flow "gate". If the tank wasn't running, I'd recommend super gluing a piece of fiberglass window screen over the inlet.

    New Aquarium Fish Ideas

Don't lie to her about it, just let her know they need at the very least, an aquarium of 6'x2'x2'. As for the common pleco, they can eventually reach up to 2' in length. Not suitable for a 350ltr. There are something like 64 species of apistogramma, which ones are you considering? If it were...

    Too Strong?

There shouldn't be any issues. Even with the increased water flow, there will still be "dead" spots in the aquarium, for your gouramis. Such as behind decorations.

Sorry, but the pictures are to small to identify anything. Can you post larger pics?

Talk To Me About Zodiac Loaches

Yeah sorry. Only time I ever kept them was in a sales tank at the lfs I worked at. Not the ideal first hand experience, when having to take care of 6,000 gallons of fish. :)

    Eggs Or Stomach Contents?!

Starve them a few days, they'll reabsorb the eggs for nutrition. As for the filter, yes the aerator should be on 24/7.

Extremely Finicky Fire Eel - Need Advice

Give it time, eventually hunger will get the best of it. A healthy fish can go several weeks or even a month or more without eating.

    My Tank

Would never have guessed it was your first tank. Looks great!

    Kind Of Rescaping

    Looks really good!

    Blind Cave Tetra Stocking?

They aren't strongly schooling fish, so 4-6 should be just fine.
  17. thereverendturtle

    Small Oddball

Possibly. The butterflies are fairly sedate, not drawing attention to themselves. A male golden wonder killies would work also, and add some color at the surface.

    Is It Bacteria?

    No pic.

Don't Think This Is Guianacara Geayi?

Guianacara sphenozona, would be my guess. The head shape doesn't look right for geayi.

    Paratilapia Polleni

Try the old world section also, since they are from Madagascar.

That's what I was speaking of.

One Last Fish For 20g Tank?

In a 30 gallon, a blue acara would work. Possibly one of the krobia sp. also.

    Blue Ram With Swollen Eye

I would move the ram to a hospital tank of 5-10 gallons. Set it up bare, with 50% display tank water 50% new. Add a heater, airstone and something to provide shelter, lengths of pvc pipe work well. Medicate with a good fish antibiotic, and test water daily for ammonia and nitrites. The reason I...

    Am I A Horrible Person? :(

You are doing the right thing. A horrible person would flush the fish, to its demise. As for adding the gourami, that should work perfectly.
  27. thereverendturtle

Siamese Algae Eater And Hair Algae

Yes a school or at minimum a trio is the best way to go. Also look at nerite snails and maybe larger cherry shrimp. A trio of SAE's won't over stock your tank, until the clowns get large 5"+.

    Eggs Or Stomach Contents?!

I would say eggs too. The stomach is in the silver sack, though I thought the ovaries and testes were as well... Sexing skirt tetras is hard enough, with only real visible signs being the females are plumper than males. Some fish develop different sexes as embryos, depending on water parameters...

    Kind Of Rescaping

I remember many years ago, someone asking Jack Wattley about adding CO2 to their discus tank. His response was that if you want more CO2, add more fish, as it also adds more fertilizers to the aquarium.

    Small Oddball

African butterfly, though they do get a bit larger.

    Bullying In My Tank

Adding more should help with the aggression. Be sure the new ones are similar in size to the residents. How large is the tank?
  32. thereverendturtle

One Last Fish For 20g Tank?

Agree with the added cories. Ok, after racking my brain for the last hour or so, I think a single male pearl gourami is the best choice. All the other fish I can think of get to large, stay more at the bottom or are about 2" at most.
  33. thereverendturtle

    10g Tall Species Tank

What are the dimensions of the tank? That would help decide what fish would be happy.

    Female Betta Needs A Friend!

That's a tough one. Fish that aren't natural shoalers, don't get lonely, bored maybe. Add lots of plants fake or real, one of the floating Betta logs and maybe a small piece of bogwood, to give her things to explore.

Stock; Just Curious If I'll Be Overstocked

Those are all pretty small fish, except the gourami and bn. You should be fine, even at the high end of the numbers for each group.
  39. thereverendturtle

    10g Tall Species Tank

Maybe a group of endlers and cherry shrimp.

    Molly's

Silver dollars tend to be one of the better schooling fish with cichlids.
