Is there anything that is from asia that I can put in to replace the platies making it more of a biotope.
In there are 8 sparkling gourami's, 12 hengeli rasbora's, 10 Kuhli loaches, the 4 platies and the cherry shrimp but I never really see them anyway.
I would like something colourful and maybe the size of platies as it is 125 litres and there is already a lot of small fish in there but I am open to suggestions of smaller fish. [/background]

Cherry barbs are a similar size to platies and would work with your stock

You'd need to get at least 6 of them really though as they are schooling fish.

One of the rice fish species would be awesome. A group of 6 would be ideal.

I've heard barbs are particularly fin-nippy around gouramis.
