Well, since it has a deformed face, it might make it easier to house other fish with it. What size aquarium is it? There are some Central American cichlids that might do well, firemouths and sajica spring to mind.

First, its not algae, its fungus. Second, use Methylene blue or arciflavine to keep the fungus from attacking the eggs. Third, if your pair is young, its possible the eggs were infertile to begin with. If they keep turning white give the fish some time to mature. Good luck.

Depends on your tank size and scape. If you do get them all, only get males of the peacocks as they will hybridize muddying up the blood lines. The only ones that concern me are the labs, as Mbuna can be aggressive, and peacocks can't handle it.

Are you talking about actual crystal, or starfire glass. Starfire is said to be "crystal clear", because they use less iron in making it. If that's it people usually get it on larger tanks, because regular glass has a green tint to it that starfire doesn't, making the inside of the tank clearer...

It might be possible, but why would you want to intentionally create a hybrid cichlid? Both of those cichlids are beautiful as they are. I would suggest either breeding one species or the other. Leave the hybrids to the Asian breeders.

I think the study was more on extremely warmer water, probably 30-34C. It makes sense to me. If you look at apistos bred in Asia, there are usually way more males in a shipment than females. Males sale better than females.

Bleach is safe to use, I've used it several times in the past. In fact that is how you recharge purigen. If you do use bleach, just soak whatever you've used it on, in tap water and an overdose of dechlorinator. Rinse them well and if it still has a bleach smell, soak and dechlorinate again.
