I have 3 Zebra Danios and 3 Neon Tetras in my 70ltr tank. Over the past fortnight I've noticed the danios chase each other a lot and also chasing the tetras on occasion. One of the danios looked like it was hiding away, since it had been chased a lot earlier in the day.

Are danios aggressive in that way? I was under the impression they were very peaceful, community fish. Or can this behaviour be discarded as playing?

Danio's and Tetra's both need larger shoals and even then the Danio's will chase.

The danios are chasing, because that's what they do. They do however as previously stated need to be in larger groups of 6+, as do your neons. Schooling fish will sometimes get aggressive when kept in insufficient numbers and chase everything else in the tank out of fear. It's kind of a "well I'll show them I'm not scared" act. Up your numbers and they should stick to playing tag mainly with their own kind.
Good luck

Danios are reknowned for being fiesty if kept in small groups, you should aim to have at least 6 but ideally 10+, not surprising at all you have problems with just 3.
