Rams would be fine in your substrate, but they do prefer softer ph, of around 7. at highest. Think your doing the right thing getting rid of all your live bearers. As pretty as they are, there a pain to keep on top of. What about a ghost knife? There nice looking oddballs. Not sure just how big...

I try do my pipes 2-3 times a year and each time there usually always pretty bogin. Bit that was the thick end of a year without cleaning them and they were disgusting. Will still give them an other clean when the jbl thing arrives. G

Rummys are so dear up here. There about £2 each at the cheapest and there's never any 'deals' as such, ie, 6 to a tenner. Rubbish :/

Love the clown loach mate! I have some in my 4footer too, can't bring myself to get rid of them and can't afford a bigger tank. You should get a nice background for your tank to finish of off. But very nice tank :D G

Just not quite the same as good old vinyl though is it. With the cd you can beat match at the touch of a button where the vinyl you have to physically touch and time. Its a dying art :sad: G

Back in the "Good old days", when I lived myself. I had my sub sitting inside one of the shelves of my tank stand with both my floor standing speakers at each side of the tank and listened to VERY loud music, EVERY day, and the fish didnt seen to mind. My old band even jammed a couple of times...

Plants Alive is the 1 for me :good: I got the bargin bag just to "test the water", and all 50 plants were good and healthy. I'm now going to order a mixed forground pack, see if thats any good. G

My tanks a 200ltr and its fine. I just done a water test there, and everythings as normal. It's been a couple of days since I cleaned my filter tubes. G

Every Sunday, I do my cleaning of my tank. But the for past couple of weeks, its just not been looking all that clean. So I gave my filter a good cleaning (in tank water of course), and it still didn't look too good. So I got some new media.... Nope. Still not good. Next week, some new pads for...

That sounds like a good mix of community fish u got there man. I would up the number of danios and glow lights to about 8-10 though. And well done on keeping hold of all fish during cycle. I take it that it was a 'fish-in' cycle too? G
