I'm finally cycled, 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite and 20 nitrate.

Nobody died either!

I have 165 litres volume and the following:

4 danios
4 glolight tetra
10 neon tetra
8 balloon mollies
3 gourami
1 tiny plec
4 sunset platy
1 male guppy

I plan on getting some more guppies and balloon platys and possibly a fully aquatic crab. Not sure on how much more though. I know it sounds a lot there, but they are all small fish.

the small fish will grow bigger though lol

That sounds like a good mix of community fish u got there man. I would up the number of danios and glow lights to about 8-10 though.
And well done on keeping hold of all fish during cycle. I take it that it was a 'fish-in' cycle too?

I really don't think you should add any more fish. Instead i think you should modify you current stocking. Then seeing what you want to do.

Staxx makes a great point that these fish will get bigger, increasing your bio load and swimming space. You are already just a little over stocked IMO. Some would say you are FULLY stocked instead, especially with live plants.

4 danios Do you know what kind of Danios? This fish should have at least 5 in a group.
4 glolight tetra - This fish should have at least 5 in a group.
10 neon tetra
8 balloon mollies - Will reproduce FAST. Requires 1 Male to 2 Female ratio.
3 gourami (Do you know what kind?) Three of this fish with the amount of other fish you have is too many. I'm only saying because normal gouramis get to be 5" - 6" big. That is TOO big for this tank with this stocking.
1 tiny plec (Do you know what kind?)
4 sunset platy - Will reproduce FAST. Requires 1 Male to 2 Female ratio.
1 male guppy - Will reproduce FAST. Requires 1 Male to 2 Female ratio.

You can add other fish if you want and find out for yourself. It is always a big gamble but I would keep an eye on your ammonia as adding more fish could crash your bio load causing you to go into another cycle.

Instead of adding more fish, why not correct your stocking? IMO I would get rid of the Danios all together. Get more Glolight tetras to make them feel safe and consider moving a gourami or two.

If you want to keep the danios, do so. I would at least truly consider moving the gouramis as they will grow to twice the size of all the other fish in the tank.

Be wary as fully aquatic crabs can eat your fish at night. They are also escape artists. I would do some research on these, maybe ask people who have kept the specific species you want to get?

I would NOT ADD more guppies and balloon platys. They reproduce and they do it fast. Also, you already have so many fish. Unless you have another tank or you can get rid of the fish. LFS if you talk to them can accept donations. Something to look into?

Guppies, Platys and Mollies are all livebearers and hold sperm in them for months. Once pregnant they can give birth multiple times. Some of the bigger fish may eat the fry which will help in population control.

I just want to give you things to keep in mind. Only suggestions, as I have run into problems like this myself.

If you can please provide us with what kind of Gouramis those are as well it will help. If you have a dwarf species, the stocking wont be as bad. I love gouramis, their beautiful!

Just my opinion in order to keep your fish and aquarium stable and happy. Good luck.

Thanks for the replies guys.

Firstly, my gourami. Three of these.

Two female, one male.

The balloon mollies, four red and four white. If they breed, I'd let the fry get eaten to be honest. Same for the platy fry.

Plec, here it is.

I just counted the danios and glolights. There are five of each not four.

Should I get rid of the danios then and get some more guppies for the one lonely one?

Uh, Opaline Gourami, known bullies. I can see those being a problem as they get big and your others stay small. I would swap those for two female and one male Dwarf Gourami. Will go way better with your other fish.

Lone Guppy is fine. I would not get rid of the danios for more guppies. IMO I'd get rid of the guppy.

Since you have 5 of each those will be fine, although more is better.

Those gouramis will get big. 5" at the least. 2 females to a male is perfect for them. I'd only be concerned about your stocking and compatibility to be honest. When these fish grow you will be overstocked. ALso they could eat your other fish and bullie them like creeker states:

Do you have another tank? Smaller? bigger? You could move some fish into a smaller tank. That would make everything perfect. Also give you more room to stock this tank with stuff you want...also maybe more compatible fish.

many options. All on what you wanna do.

What are your water paramters?

gH? kH? pH? What temp do you keep the tank at? Do you know? I could suggest some things.

I hope I'm wrong, but that 'plec' looks very much like a gibbiceps to me

I've got a fluval edge which is full already.

I think I might have to take the gourami back then. I want a lot of guppies really, and a pair of sail fin mollies.

Water, 7.6ph, 24/25 degrees.

If you want more livebearers just get a pair and wait. Honestly lol. Youll like the fish you got see to grow up from specs so much more!

Yea the gouramis should go.

What is you gH? Water hardness?
