final decisions? on 75 g marineland majesty

ok first yeah banana plants work, second unless your flow is at least 20 times your water volume per hour in this case 1500 gallons per hour do not get hillstream loaches, your guppy sounds like a normal guppy not a dumbo use a power head or an aquarium fan to increase your current. if you want...

final decisions? on 75 g marineland majesty

ok if you want a calm river current then no hillstream or borneo loaches because they need a flow of at least 20 times the volume of the aquarium every hour so stick to pangio semisincta, a river manifold is 10 times simpler than you think but for what you say then it is not the filter for you...

final decisions? on 75 g marineland majesty

use an aquarium river manifold, it is a power head in one side connected to a sponge filter on the opposite side trough underground pipes, it makes a strong unilateral flow that keeps your waters clean and well oxygenated

final decisions? on 75 g marineland majesty

for plants i would say to choose plants from a river so that they can stand the strong currents
  5. G

final decisions? on 75 g marineland majesty

ok so what do you want for your aquarium? a river style thing? because unless they have short fin guppy are going to have a bad time, snails do not care at all, bamboo shrimp love strong flow, glass catfish if i'm not wrong they like more of alow current not so much a river like thing, loaches...

    largemouth bass

yeah, one of my dreams is a 3 hectare pond with native tetras and small fish and invertebrates and teh big price will be the bass, tilapia, crappy, catfish, cichlids, yellow perch, green sunfish, bluegill and gar. all of them for food and sport fishing

    cold water shrimps/lobsters

glass shrimp is another name for ghost shrimp, maybe you thought we were talking about crystal shrimp?

    cold water shrimps/lobsters

13 species of glass shrimp in mexico and none of them live in my state or near my state :( guess i will have to start a hunt for them in local fish stores, and it will be a hunt because they are super rare here.
  10. G

    cold water shrimps/lobsters

yeah they are shrimp only, i have another set of tanks in my patio for my guppy and gourami fry, these are with shrimp only in mind
  11. G

    cold water shrimps/lobsters

thanks! i will see if there are any glass shrimp in my area, thank you so much, i had glass shrimp in mind but i did not know if they could handle the temperatures
  12. G

    New tank.

looks really good, maybe cover all those rocks on a mix of microsorum pteropus and java moss, i think it would look cool.
  13. G

    cold water shrimps/lobsters

ok, they are 5 gallon (20 liter) containers which are in my patio, they will always get sunlight from 11am to 5pm sometimes they get more hours, don't have heating and they have a sandy bottom, to help with filtration and oxygenation I have najas guadalupensis, golden pothos and salvinnia...

    cold water shrimps/lobsters

i must say that this is my winter temps and i do not expect them to breed in said conditions, i just want an invertebrate that can breed but can survive those winter temps and is small enough to live in 20 gallons. My summer temps are around 25 degrees celsius (77 farenheit)
  15. G

    cold water shrimps/lobsters

i need a small freshwater shrimp that can live in 14 degrees celcius (57 farenheit), herbivore/detritus eater that can live and breed in at least 5 gallons
  16. G

    New tank.

then yeah lots of drifwood, botanicals and the plants that i told you may work good and your betta will like it.
  17. G

    New tank.

well, go with a biotope style aquarium, lets say your betta species is from thailand, in that case you have cryptocoryne, vallisneria, pogostemon, rotala, java moss and java fern as easy to care for plants, so it all comes down to the size of your tank i hope it is a 10-15 gallon
  18. G

    Is my pleco injured?

it really doesnt look injured to me, but still if you can you should remove any sharp decoration, change your substrate to fine sand and if you dont have it already add a piece of wood, that should ensure your plecos health

    Stocking advice needed!!!

yes just add some leaves and scatter them around the tank, just boil them first tho, i know the look of tannins is not for everyone but it really helps gourami and their babies

    Escape

buy a large and heavy piece of acrilic as a top but i would recomend you to make the turtle a small pond since they kinda need a lot of water as they grow, at the moment i have a 55 gallon pond with a perimeter outside in my garden my turtle can go out and swim but also bask in direct sunlight...
  23. G

    Stocking advice needed!!!

i would go for a biotope and not use apistos here tho, i would make them their own species only aquarium, you can do that on a 15 gallon as the smallest
  24. G

    Stocking advice needed!!!

well in my opinion you could add 2 female gourami to lower sexual agression or parental agression from the male, the apistos could work since they are more bottom dwellers and gourami are surface dwellers but you will need a cave (put the caves opening facing away from everything else because...

    i failed

I need to vent I made a mistake that may be insignificant for you, but for me it is greater. I was cutting the bad leaves of my echinodorus and I saw one of my assassin snails on one of those leaves but I did not pay attention, when I got to the plant where the snail was, I had already forgotten...

    Unpopular Opinions (fish related)

the rooster fighting thing is not illegal sadly, here in fact it is seen as a "healthy" sport for the family and always every year when there are huge fairs and parties there are always idiots who take roosters into a ring to fight them, and the bets are legal. At least in my state they have...

Angels eating my Amazon Sword plants!

you can try feeding them lettuce or squash, maybe add some duckweed to distract them from your swords, also feed them 3 time per day a small amount, also in what size tank are they? swors are usually ignored but chewing them may be a stress driven behaviour because they may feel overcrowded.

i agree with all your underrated fish, for example the mexican blind tetra has a non blind counterpart that is green and quite a nice shoaler an its care is the same but just a little warmer water (here is a side to side of the blind and the non blind keep in mind that they are the same species...
