Another test this morn, still have close to 4ppm ammonia, 0ppm nitrites, PH is 6.8. I didn't check nitrates this time cause right now I just want to see ammonia dropping and see nitrites.

I really want to do it the right way but just can't understand why I have nitrates before nitrites. Also should I keep dosing aammonia even though its 4ppm or just wait till it drops before adding more?

Just tested my tap water for nitrates and it was a as yellow as could be so 0ppm of. nitrates in tap water.

OK now I am confused, I just checked the nitrate and I'm reading 20ppm. I can't imagine it skipping the nitrites with only a cycle time of 6 days. Any thoughts on this?

My tank did run 24 hrs before the TSS was a added but I didn't wait 7 days before adding ammonia, I actually added ammonia first then added tss couple hrs after but only all this after 24 hr tank run. Do you recommend me do a water change to lower ammonia to 3ppm?

I followed this other than my ammonia went to 4ppm instead of three. I had thought about doing a water change to drop it but not sure. That's why I asked here hoping someone would would advise me as what to do.

OK after seeing a video of a betta with about 6-7 rasboras I have made up my mind! This is the setup I'm going with, maybe add a couple ghost shrimp cause I think they look cool but the betta may have them for lunch

I'm really thinking hard about getting all male guppies and a couple of platies and a couple ghost shrimp.

So if it were you alls tank, would you go bbetta and Corie's or guppies? Also if I did betta and Corrie's could I put a African drawf frog in there?

well I may could order some chili's. They were some on eBay, so what could I do maybe 4 guppies and 4 chilis?

I like guppies and rasboras and ghost shrimp. Will the two work if so how many? also my LPS doesn't carry the chili's but has some rasboras just not sure exactly the kind.

OK I've changed my mind and not looking at gouramis now. So if I were to get 2 different species and would like 5-6 fish total without overstocking are there any. ideas out there?

Thanks for the replies! I thought to maybe instead of platys just going with a school of cherry barbs with the one quorami but that may be overstocked?

I'm in process of cycling my 10g tank. I was wanting to put 1 drawf gourami 2 platys and 4 ghost shrimp. I'm also gonna be planting live plants when cycle is complete. NONE of this will happen until cycle is complete. My question is, is these fish to much, not enough, or just right for my tank...
