Well I have a 10g cycling but I am undecided on what to put in it. I do have a 20g tank I could get up and running but space is an issue for that right now. I know I could do a fairly nice planted tetra tank in a 20 so maybe I will try to work that.
Thanks for the replys! IMO 5g with a filter and heater is fine for a betta so I am pretty set on that. I didn't see any today at the LFS that I liked so I might have to go to aquabid for that. The 10g tank I am still undecided on, the tetras were an idea but I am open to other ideas also.
Right now we have 2 dogs, Sandy and Rusty (Sandy half St. Bernard, half Husky, Rusty some golden retriever and whatever else), 2 cats (Marbles and Peach), and a water dragon named Commander Cool.

Hello, I've been away from the forum and fish keeping for about 5 years or so but I am currently working on getting 2 small tanks (a 5g and 10g) set up and getting back into fish slowly. I used to keep a lot of bettas and had a 20g community tank. I'm probably going to get a betta for the 5g and...
As said before there are a bunch of different options for filters. There are some green plastic ones that hold a filter thing and also put air in the tank. Or you could get a sponge filter. Just go look at your LFS and see what they have. Whisper filters would work also.
I know that a crayfish should not be placed in a tank with other fish as it will eat them but can I put say 2-3 crayfish in a 10g tank? I would obviously provide lots of cover and hiding spots but still not sure if it would work.
I think I remember reading somewhere that there was a type of small cichlids that can go in a 10g-20g. The reason I am asking is becuase next year I will be staying in a dorm room and they only allow 10g tanks or less. I am willing to get like a 30g because I really don't think anyone will say...
Hello, I am thinking of getting a 12g nano cube for a marine tank. I would get the deluxe version of the tank. As for stuff to get for it this is what I have been looking at -
Coral - http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_Di...cfm?pCatId=2033
Live rock -...
Ok, thanks for all the suggestions. Skinks live around me and I have seen some massive ones in the wild. I'm going to visit the college in April so when I go I will ask them and see what they say. Even if they say a lizard would be fine, I might still just stick with fish.
Next year I'm headed to college and I am allowed only one 10 gallon tank. I am thinking of asking if instead of having fish could I have a lizard instead. I was looking at leapard geckos and house geckos. The leapards were $25 and the house was $5. Are there any other types of lizards besides...
Tetras really need to be kept in groups of 6 or more. Also they are bright so the betta might attack them. I have had success with a shrimp , but other people have not, it all depends on your betta. As for getting a betta it is up to you. aquabid.com has really nice fish but they cost more and...
Thanks! :D I have a spare 5gallon tank so I am looking to get a new betta but everytime I go to the petstore they don't have one that I really like. I'll just keep looking and eventually I will find the right one!
Well I moved the tanks today and decided to get some pics. They are not very good quality because they are from my phone but you can see them a little.
