Picked by my girlfriend yesterday, I have attached a picture of my very first Betta, Wentworth.

It was the girlfriend who picked the name, and my Betta has been named after the actor WENTWORTH MILLER, who plays Michael Schofield in Prison Break. Fans of the series will know that he is named fish by many of the other inmates.

He is currently in my Rekord 70 with mollies, White Cloud Minnow's and platies. Comments would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Is the tank planted... Betta's will benefit from vegetation and shelter.

Yes, it is planted there are several Amazon Sword plants in there and a bunch of 'Fountain Plants' in the centre. My Betta seems rather content with just swimming backwards and forwards around the back of the tank. I'm a little concerned about him everytime he goes near the filter output though, it does throw him around a lot, but he keeps going back for more

Nice Betta!! :good:

Thanks.

I currently have a black piece of cardboard as the background of the tank, but my Betta is constantly flaring and attacking it. I've just removed the card and he's stopped it now. The card is matte black, and so isn't reflective. Can anybody suggest an alternative colour?? (I'm using black to disguise the Juwel filter housing)

Awww what a little doll  sometimes they like to play in the filter current, lol, mischivious little devils.

You could move your swords nearer to the filter housing so they hide it a little better. And any colour that is dark will usually make his reflection visible. I suggest blue...maybe even sky blue.

That's a nice idea, I'll play around with them tomorrow, see how it goes.

Love the color!

Thanks, you can't really see it opn these pictures but there is a slight purple hint in the fins, which looks great when he flares!
