They're both Crowntails :) I'm my experience, my CT girls were always the feistiest. You'd have better luck putting a few more girls in if you'd like your girls together. :)

Thanks guys Yep, Gracie was bred to Angel a while back. I still have all the babies that survived the ich attack in the grow out. I never sold them because they were stunted, so I figured I'd just give it another go. Guess that's the end of my Opaque line. :(

I have a bunch of canning jars I used for jarring my last spawn. Don't know if they're as readily available in the UK but around here they go on sale in the summer. I got them a while ago but I think it was around $10 per 12/box.

Yep, I use it for both. I usually put in 1/2 teaspoon per gallon for disease prevention, and 1 teaspoon per gallon when treating an ill betta. I add in the drop of aquarisol (per gallon) and salt every 100% water change. :)

Aquarisol and aquarium salt are good to have. I use both as a disease preventative and have noticed less sickly bettas since I started using both.

What you're doing now is fine. I have something in between all my tanks too. I let all of them flare a bit each day.

He might be a little stressed with going to a new home so don't worry too much. :) If he's a HM, his fins will open up to 180 degrees, no less. Anything less but close to a HM is a Super Delta and if it ain't even close, it's a delta. :)

A few were from BC Bettas, most from the LFS, some bred by me, some bred by fishykisses, one bred by Splashluff and one pair bred by luvmybetta. I rarely buy from Petcetera/Petsmart.. but if I do, it's because I take it in as a rescue to help it recover.. usually I get it for free though.

I look for tail type first, then color. Then if I decide that I want to breed him/her, I just check to see if they look generally healthy. I don't care much about fin damage but just things like if it looks active, flaring, body looks okay, etc. Occasionally I will rescue a betta if it looks...

Well.. I don't know about cats but if you ignored a dog for a week, it'd be "fine" (barely surviving) too. Not saying that it's right at all(!) but just comparing it to bettas.. the betta would probably still be surviving.. though certaining not thriving. But I do agree that a betta is easier...

Oh really? Ah well, I guess I should stop doing that. I don't do it much anymore anyways.. since extra bloodworms spreads out quite nicely over 25+ bettas. =P

I take a piece, put in a smidge of hot water, then either let it cool down or add a bit of cold water if I'm feeling impatient. Any excess worms are poured through the net and put back into the container to be frozen again. :nod:

I put the betta in a cup, pour out the old water, fill up the tank with new water at the same temp, add dechlorinator, add a drop of aquarisol and some salt, and plop the betta back in. I've never acclimated for water changes.. haven't lost a betta yet. :good:

It's okay, I kinda agree with Liz actually. Most girls don't seem to have the colors or fins that appeal to most people. I have a couple of girls who are just stunning but for the most part, I think my boys are more eye-appealing.
