Where Do You Buy Your Bettas?

Simple poll about where your bettas usually come from.

Edit: The poll didn't post because apparently i'm inept. Where do you usually buy your bettas? Breeders, online stores, national chain (walmart, petsmart, etc), local pet/fish store? Or do you breed them yourself?

Well, you wouldn't buy them if you bred them yourseld but i normally get mine from either breeders or pet stores (my local lfs)

I got both Rainbow and Bill from Petsmart, along with all the supplies.

I got mine from Petsmart. Little dude seemed in alright condition, at least I kept him alive. But, if I don't want to go all the way to Petsmart, to my lfs.

A few were from BC Bettas, most from the LFS, some bred by me, some bred by fishykisses, one bred by Splashluff and one pair bred by luvmybetta. I rarely buy from Petcetera/Petsmart.. but if I do, it's because I take it in as a rescue to help it recover.. usually I get it for free though.

National chains, mainly, I have one from a lfs. We didn't have a locally owned place in the area for about five years.

I don't think it matters much, though. I'm pretty sure that when a store "orders" bettas, they're coming from fish farms. I don't think many pet stores actually get their bettas in from local breeders. (Which would be awesome if they did!)

Well, breeders and online "stores" mostly and I have a few that I bred. I got some from splashluff, synirr, and most atm are from luvmybetta.com, plus I have several from my spawn last fall.

6 of them from Petsmart (only 3 of them were in decent living quarters, but only 2 were considered "rescues") and one from a member on TFF .

Generally from breeders, I use Aquabid a lot. I've also bought some at shows, also from various breeders. I still have two VTs from Walmart though (Uriel and Banshee)

I get mine from my LFS, who gets the fish from local breeders. It means that the most extravagant tail type they get is a CT, but they are all healthy and in great shape. They are upgrading all their betta tanks to 2.5 gal divideds!

I love them. I went there today, I got gravel (worth $12) and conditioner (worth $20) all for $19.

all my VT's are from my LFS who doesnt let anyone else buy them until i have pick of the crop. All my none VT's have come from Joby and i have a couple coming from red_devil as well. Then im on with my breeding program
