Im not sure whats wrong, if anything. His belly is a bit big and he seems to have lost coloration a bit and is hanging out in the plants. MY tank is in the 3rd week of cycling. The ammonia is 0, Nitrite is 2 or 3 and the PH is 7.8. Could it be NTD?

Does anyone know any mating "rituals" they do? This one particular fish has seemed to get wide and round over night and hangs out in one of the plants and every once in awhile, chases (for a lack of a better term) or circles (in really tight circles) the other fish.

I have no pics but Ill try to describe it. Basically when it grows..it grows to the surface and then appears to bend and then go across the waters surface. Not actually break the surface. It resembles hairgrass, but it is thicker.

I have one neon that has developed a rounder belly and is a little "thicker" then the others. I know they ususally dont breed well in captivity, but I don't think it's sick. She'he has got good coloring and eats, just isnt schooling and is heding in plants and under rocks. Any thoughts?

Yeah, under my one rock, all four of them hang out or they hang out on the big amazon plant. Today however, my new male Krib (never had them before) made a snack out of the biggest one and the fiddler crab finished it off.

I've never heard of them before, but this aquarium shop has them. They look like a cross between a Bolivian and Blue, but much smaller and there bellies are fat. Is there sucha thing?

I highly recommend Black Neon Tetra's. They're very active and seem to "play" alot. Keep them with smaller fish or bottom dwellers and they will be fine. Great fish! I have a school of 6 and 3 regular neons. (which I will be adding too)

With the input from several board members, I rehomed my 2 Odessa barbs and snow tetra. One because they were nippy with my neons and they really needed to be kept with a decent size school and I wasn't about to do that. So after I rehoused them, I went and got a pair of Kribs. So far, so good...
