My tank is only a month old and without proper advice from thje store, I stocked my tank within the first week. All was fine, but the past few days, Ive had soem problems with a neon and now the make Krib. He is breathing very heavy at the bottom of the tank and kids bobbing side to side. The female seems to be fine. Its a 20 gallon and I just did about a 40% water change an hour ago and added "Cycle" and a dechlorinator". My nitrite was 5.0 now its about 2 with no ammonia and PH is 7.8

Sorry neons are not a cycling fish nor the kribs, only thing you can do while the tank is still cycling is water changes and add extra aeration, some fish will die as it takes it's toll on the fish, sorry.

Sorry to say it but you will probably loose them, I was first taught amonia and other toxins are like cancer it may take months but the damage is done, I bought guppies to cycle mine as they are cheap and hardy

I've been doing the water changes and Addig salt. The Krib died over night, but my sick little Neon is still hanging on.
