i was about to get the gravel out of my tank, but then i just wondered, why exactly can't i have gravel at the bottom of the tank (it's a very thin layer), and sand on top? the gravel:sand ratio is around 1:5 and i only have a few gravel on top of the sand koz it looks good :P like small...

hi there! i decided to treat my oto catfish with a slice of cucumber for the first time. i boiled a lil piece for 2 mins, cut a slice (with the skin) and put in the tank, but my oto won't touch the cucumber. how long can i leave the cucumber slice in the tank? thx for the help :)

Yeh it kinda disappoints me that they don't, because I've read that bloodworms would be a treat for them. They're just eating the regular flakes atm. Thx for replying so fast :)

ADFs would usually do better with a mate. if u wanna make sure it's an ADF, check the front legs (hands). if they're webbed, then it's most likely an ADF. if not, prolly an ACF. also ADF eyes are on the sides of the head, while ACF's are on top. ur ADF sounds usually very aggressive though...

bah i gave up on the idea of getting a california newt, maybe later when i can afford more space + bigger tanks etc etc. but they look so nice though :wub:

if it is light, yes it could be volcanic, and on the other hand, do not boil (or heat etc) to kill the bacteria koz it might explode due to possible trapped air bubbles inside // cheers
