Hi everybody,

My school of 7 neon tetra will not eat my frozen and freeze-dried bloodworms. :(

Any clue why?

Did they have it at the lfs? Maybe they are not used to it? It doesn't particularly matter as long as they are still eating it. If other fish are eating it - keep feeding it and they will probably start to eat it.

In other words, don't worry :)

Yeh it kinda disappoints me that they don't, because I've read that bloodworms would be a treat for them. They're just eating the regular flakes atm.

Thx for replying so fast :)

hi
have you tried chopping the frozen bloodworm up with some small scissors before you put it in, ive just seen our rummy & cardinal tetras try to grab a big bit of bloodworm but if its too 'long' they give up but if they find a small piece of chopped up stuff they'll eat it. :)

If you want to get them used to proper food, try daphnia. I use pre packed sachets from Tetra. My neon's love both bloodworm and daphnia now.
