I was just wondering in anyone feeds their angels live food as I have a 20g with livebearers in which is starting to get a little over full with fry....they would make good food! The angels are around 5/6 months old....

The "greenplant" (Egeria densa?) I have that plant too, when I first got it mine did that but then bits break off in the current...they dont die they just get caught in other plants and carry on growing..strange things!!!! I quite please now because I know what kind of plant it is....just...

If you have an external filter you put in the bottom basket(furthest away from the impeller so none if it gets caught). Not sure about an internal filter.

I think that water is quite hard, it always leaves white marks on the glass out side the tank if any spills over once its dried. PH is just under 8.

I had a massive snail problem in my 20g, used a product called snail away it worked for a couple of months then the snails came back again, when I added the snail away the fish just sat at the bottom not doing anything. If I see any I put them in 50g and let the clown loaches sort them out...

You might remove to much of the beneficial bacteria from the old tank and crash it.... Just swap 1/4 of new gravel with old then a week later swap 1 sponge from each filter.... It will speed up you cycle with out crashing your 60g

So it would be ok to add 2 more clowns, I was a little concerned as I thought they could grow quite large!? Would it be ok to add another 4 Silvertip Tetra so they can school? Do an A.D.F need a companion or can they live by them self’s? Whats the life span of the fish in my tank as I plan to...

In my 50g I have 2 Angels, 2 Clown Loaches, 6 Leopard Danio, 7 Serpae Tetra and 3 Silvertip Tetra. Its got the correct filtration for the size and is a medium planted tank. Can I fit anymore fish in?

I have a 50g with 2 angels and a couple other other fish, i wanna add a small school of neons but the only problem is the angels might eat them.... The angles are about 4 months old, will they only attack then neons when they are older and big enough to fit in the angels mouth?

Almost all plants come with snails eggs on. If you leave the plants in a quarantine tank for 26 hours with the temperature around 85f the parasites will die as they don’t have a host. I also dip plants in a strong aquarium slat/snail away solution before adding them in a hope that it will kill...

Id get the liquid ones not that tablets....tablets take a while to fully dissolve and don’t always give accurate readings.

Just two more questions..... 1. How do I prepare it for aquarium use? 2. Will it turn my water brown? Can anyone else help with the frog question??

In my opinion live plants do the aquarium the world of good...the water quality is allot better! There is less chance of having algae in a planted tank as the plants use the nitrates up that the algae would use.

Does it look "fluffy" or like cotton wool? If you just have livebearers the tank add a little aquarium salt to the water, I have been for the past 6 months and *touch wood* never had a sick fish.

I have got ich in one of my tanks, its only showing on the Clown Loaches(2 of them), I’m using half the recommended dose of treatment and turned the temperature up to 85. Is the ok to add salt to the tank or will it kill my clown loaches as they are scale less. The other fish in there are 2...

Mine do it too...I read somewhere the other day its common for them to do it especially if they are the same colour or have the same markings.

My 50g finished cycled yesterday(I can go and buy the fish today B) ) it took 15 days, It would of taken allot longer if I hadn’t of added gravel out of an established tank, 1 filter sponge and a 30% w/c....I put well to much ammonia in at one point..It was off that scale, and the scale goes up...

If you haven’t got markings on it the best thing you could do is get a thermometer and check the temp after the light that shows the heater in on has gone out the turn it up/down....?

I was a the LFS yesterday when I spotted some "floating frogs"....I have been looking for a frog for one of my tanks for a while....before I bought one I just thought I'd check that they dont jump out of the tank...does any one know/have one?

I have heard people on here talking about "Sponge Filters" what are they and how do I build one? Are they as good as people make out?
