breeding 2 siblings completely changes things, for instance if you wanted more PKs you'd spawn the 2 siblings showing short fins *there'd be few to choose from but anyway* You'd look for PK finnage, short anal fins, dorsal shapes etc, then from there spawn you'd get probably 25% PKs, 50% VTs...

Ok if there older pics, how long have they been together? You'll get better results conditioning 100% out of site of each other, then introducing once fully conditioned

VT is dominant over all other tail types, if you use a Veil in a spawn you'll get all Veils even if you spawn with a halfmoon. Pretty much the same with red, and since the female has red wash a large majority will be red

I run a group on FB called Betta Splendens, might change the name :hyper:

100% Veils, 90% reds if not more, some with blue wash, you may get the odd blue fish but its unlikely as red is the most dominant colour

Right here goes :D Yes I love them, I think I may be slightly addicted! I use Dividers made by Penn Plax, they are clear, my males see eachother most of the time *Dividers are now covered with algae* They flare at 1st and then after a few days ingore each other as they get used to one...

what are you using to condition and how often are you feeding it? Please don't take this wrongly but they just look like all my bettas, not eggy ones

My 1st ever longfinned Bns have arrived from Ev Aquatics, an Albino Female & 2 young Calicos Am guessing there care is exactly the same just no sharp edges that may damage there fins? *no worries of that as my Bettas are in the same tank*

depends, I have males that make new nests daily, others only when conditioned. Some just never nest

Agreed the anal and dorsal are too long to be Plakat, he looks to have a good number of rays but he doesn't have the 180 degree spread of a Halfmoon, he may get it as he grows he may not

no water movement at all whilst in the nest and don't feed either. You need to add a sponge filter once the male is out and fry free swimming

my bettas get a minimum of 15l each, sometimes more, I've never had a problem :good:

Ping pong balls are good, also Ice cubes ;)

Also another young male *a day older than mine* got in with him through the divider and to be honest he wasn't fussed 1 bit! Of course I did separate them as soon as i saw them together
