i am so ready fir this! do not worry!

How deep is the water?

i have 5 gal in the water. i have gotten a hood for the tank and have not popped out the cut out to prevent the air from cooling :good:

That sounds like a good start on a 10 gallon como. The basic idea is to only have 6 inches or less water in a tank during breeding. After the breeding you add a bit of water each day while the male continues to care for his nest. When you remove him, the tank is full or nearly full and the fry are starting to resent the male placing them back into the nest.
