I've got guppies in both my betta tanks and so far they're all getting along great! I've got one very laidback betta in with 6 guppies and they get on fine and one fiesty betta in with 5 guppies and again they get on fine. I think it depends alot on the aggressiveness of the betta.

thanks! Yeah VT's are all my LFS stock, although they can bring in others if you want. He's a cross boy this morning, flaring at everything! Some good picture opportunities but typically i couldn't find my camera! he's such a poser as well!

i've not got pics sorry, he's still too small to get a good pic! when my molly had fry they were silver like her when they were born, this one is more brown/black, although i've a black molly and a silver molly in the tank, i'm sure they're both female, in which case it must be a guppy baby...

thanks! i love him! while i was putting him in the tank i came across a little baby something or other (either a guppy or a molly, think its a molly baby though because i'm certain all my guppies are male) so I'm just going back into LFS for a breeding net, i've got one but its been used loads...

and came out with Rainbow, my new betta! He's white bodied with bluey green spots and a blue/green/purple tail, he's the most beautiful fish i've ever seen in my LFS! He hasn't flared yet so not seen his tail properly but when he's swimming along and his fins are flowing behind him his tail...

just went upstairs to let my new fish outta his bag and when i was there i saw something dart past my eyes, and never saw it again, then i was just puttin the lid back on the tank and there it was again, swimming along quite the thing! dunno what fish it came from because none of them look...

I went to work at 6am and checked on the fish tank before I left as I always do, everything was fine, Freddie was swimming around, looked fine, no white spots, no sign of disease etc, checked my levels in the tank everything as it should be and I came home half an hour ago to find freddie lying...

Hi, if it helps, i'm new to betta keeping too! I've currently got 2 tanks, with a male betta in each one! My peaceful betta is in with 9 tetras and 4 guppies and i've had absolutely no problems with them at all! my fiesty betta is with 2 mollys but i dont think i'll put anymore fish in that tank...

its funny how they're all so different! mine won't eat flakes at all!

i've turned all the lights off now, my room light and freddie's tank light and he's just swimming around, no flaring! woohoo!

i think most of mine got eaten as well, i found 6 yesterday and another 3 today, but my lyretail black molly is following the silver one around, swimming under her and right up her backside! i wonder if he's eating them as they're being born :angry:

I've now got white fluff "floating" so I'm assuming that the one eyed fish had whitespot and it has now made the 2nd stage which means I can treat it, I'm going to try and get a picture because I don't want to be treating something I haven't got!

Hi, I got 10 neon tetras on thursday, all were fine until sunday, when I noticed 1 only had one eye. He was still swimming around and eating and interacting with the other fish and I think he may only have had one eye when I got him. However, when I came in from work this mornin he was dead :/...

thanks for your reply, i couldn't find ammonia but i bought some fish food today and added tetra safe start to the tank, the ammonia level has gone back down to 0 today, still no change with nitrite and nitrate levels but they may have been higher between satuday and tuesday as I wasn't around...

I've got my master test kit today, everything still reading as it did and ammonia is reading 0.25ppm, this is after 5 days of the tank running minus the fish! i've not added ammonia yet but i'm going to tonight! fab! i'll try boots tomorrow! so how long roughly will it take for the tank to cycle if I start adding ammonia tomorrow night? LFS just said to take tank home, set it up, add gravel, water & decorations and wait a week and then go back for the fish! no mention of ammonia or anything!
