Thanks 2Polypterus and madacow! I'm going to have to try cutting back the grass. I separated those plants from 2 potted plants, and I think they were grown emersed, due to the little "seeds" on top of the grass. Hopefully cutting them shorter will help them carpet!

Thanks! I don't think the fry are going to get eaten, as they have been in there for about 2 weeks now. The tank dimentions are 20"x10"x12" . I do add diy Co2 as well as seachem flourish and seachem flourish excel. Lighting is going to be upgraded to 2x15w 6700k tubes as soon as my new lighting...

it's ok. i definetly know that i have bolivian rams and not blue rams. i asked one of the managers at elmer's (where i bought the fish: very knowledgeable people), and he said that it is normal, but the blue is usually hard to see. he said that if the red was really getting bright (which it is)...

I was trying to do the same thing for my bolivian rams. My guppies have already bred and I have fry, but the cichlids are not taking them as food. I think they are too small, so be careful, your cichlids may not accept the rams until they are significantly larger. Good luck though! :good:

The same seller also has these guys for sale: ebay lighting ...and since I won't be growing any corals any time soon (at least not while I'm still in college), I may have to go with one of these instead. The seller has very positive feedback, so it's probably all legit. Any thoughts?

This is a 10g. I was referring my 20g which I have also recently made a journal for. I'm sorry I wasn't clearer about the lighting, when I was writing the journal I forgot to add that. I changed the lighting almost immediately after I set up the tank to flourescant, but it needs upgraded again...

Alright thanks. I feed them a variety of food, such as flakes, bloodworms, hikari cichlid staple, and they pick at the shrimp pellets and algae wafers. I'm going to try and feed them the fry soon I think.
