my suggestion would be to lower the water temp a bit, bettas are most active in warmer water..so maybe to around 76. are there any plants/rocks in his tank? if not id put a few in to keep him busy.

no a male and female can not live together the male will end up killing her, you only keep them together if you want them to mate, and thats only for a short time. so if you have a divider i suggest putting that in..or better yet a second small tank. btw congrats on your new pets, I hope you...

I actually have seen a few yellows at my lfs..actually I saw a yellow crown tail a few days ago..and passed it up to buy my mom a fish..now I greatly regret it! very cute btw;)

they do make heaters small, usually 2-5 gal ones..they are pricey where i live though.. i still need to get one -_-

well I have a theory because one of my bettas died of fin rot that was so sudden and he constantly darted around and "chased his tail" swimming in circles and such. that could be a big reason why he is doing that, especially if his tail is really long. about that bubblenest..hmm that is an odd...

LOL thats because Quaker parrots are actually supposed to be kept seperate if you want them as a pet. They are a one person bird usually and if you raise them from babys they are great birds..loud but great birds lol If you keep two together they will get attached to each other and basically...

um actually bettas do eat peas and from what i know they like them very much. I know my bettas do. they also will eat zuccini and cucumber in small bits. these are good if they have swim bladder or are constipated, but dont feed too much. to give them peas just heat up a few frozen ones and peal...

I really dont know whats wrong with him now..because he is still bloated yet swims around fine, and the thing is he doesnt eat much at all. I feed him wardleys shrimp pellets..I tried giving him blood worms but he doesnt eat them. He doesnt even eat everyday, usually once every two days I will...

oh thank god someone replied! I've been afraid he will die any day and I dont want that.. He is still active but his underside is so swollen that you can almost see right through it. I dont know if there are any meds or what to give him :(

Did you treat him with any kinds of meds at all? if you havent I suggest putting in some methylene blue for a few days, that is what I did to all the fish that I have had that are lethargic and dont eat, and it has worked. How warm is his water too? if its too cold this could be another reason...

All of my bettas hand feed, and sometimes they are more interested in my fingers than the food and will nip at my hands. I think its funny. I always wash my hands good first and make sure they are clean, and I add stresscoat to the water during every water change to help there protective slime...

I just fed all my bettas some peas, they each got one half, 2 of them are fine after I fed them, but my newest bettas stomach is suddenly distended a lot. I'm wondering if either I fed him to much or (I posted a thread about him being a her) that hes actually a female and has eggs? wish i could...

Eh thats not bad at all..Most guys complain about us women having too many pets, its just a guy thing I think..all I know is if I could I would live on a farm and be one with all the animals :lol:

LOL :rofl: My cat Rusty does the same thing. We have a seperate cabinet in our kitchen just for our cats with there food and treats in it. He sometimes will sit next to it all day and swat at it, and meow when I walk by like hes starving to death. Even right after I feed him :rofl: I swear...
