Hi all,

Well, it's come to the crunch. I can buy a beta now or next week. I chose now.

I really need people to tell me how to introduce him to his tank (2ft) and what needs to be done to the water etc. Before putting him in.

I also would like to get a female, but need to know wether I just just throw them together, and keep them that way, or not.

Pretty much, I just need a basic rundown on how to make sure their new home is fine. I chose fighters because they are very hardy and I probably won't kill them by accident (new to keeping fish).

Thanks!

LOL, I actually did do that first, but seem to have overlooked the one that was most relevant to me :*)

Thanks.

Still not sure about putting a male and female(s) together though.

no a male and female can not live together the male will end up killing her, you only keep them together if you want them to mate, and thats only for a short time. so if you have a divider i suggest putting that in..or better yet a second small tank.
btw congrats on your new pets, I hope you enjoy bettas as much as us here do :D

Thanks for that :D

My sister is buying herself a beta, so seeing as I still live at home I might persuade her to buy a female, that way I can breed them when they are ready

Any idea wether betas can live with other fish at all?

Thanks,
Marty.
