    Tea Coloured Water

Those are the tannins from the wood, wood can make the water acidic. Carbon doesn't really work, but water changes do.

    Whoa! Nitrites!

Well Nitrites are just as harmful for fish, even low levels can be proven to be fatal. Nitrates the stage after Nitrites is really not bad for fish, but in large ammounts can also be proven to be fatal. Plants take up nitrates, and water changes reduce 'em.

    New Idea

I was thinking maybe 10 fish since I've got a Fluval 304 on it. I like overkill filtering, especially since it polishes up the water. Wish that could happen for my SW tank.

    Help Please

Well If I were you try getting 2-4 2 inch cichlids, try Orange ones, and electric blues. I remember starting my 74 gallon with that. They were healthy all the way and still alive. They have grown a lot since than though. You might want to buy oscars when they are aroun an inch or two. There...

    Help Please

With a 10 gallon quarentine you can get from petco. You would want to put no substrate in, just some rocks for hiding, good filter, such as the lower class aqua clear filters made by hagen, purchase them at petsmart if you can, much cheaper since they do price checks. And also make sure the...

    Salt?

Some people swear by it, some don't. It's a mtter of persoinal prefrence. I use it in my aggressive tank. A little under than what's recommended and it provides my cichlids and oscars with a much healthier slime coat.

    Help Please

I have been keeping fish for a few years and can say that you should go straight to the 75 gallon. In the end you will thank your self. Since it is more cost effective. Also, smaller tanks are not hard to take care of. They just require a few more minutes of work. All tanks need maintainence...

LOL the 204 is for the 20 gallon taken straight from the 74 gallon. Along with 20 gallons of the 74's water. The 74 currently runs 3 fluval 404's right now and I have had the tank for 8 months or so. I've had those little ones since they were itty bitty things.

Hey guys, I own a 74 gallon tank freshwater aggresive and recently took out the old 20 gallon I had. Now I wanted to ask you, because I was thinking of getting peaceful fish, but I don't remember if its good since they tend to be more sensitive, unlike aggresive. If it could be peaceful I am...
