You have had the same problem I had. Two guppies gave birth the 28 babies, the next morning I only had two live ones. I have no idea what happened. Sorry I dont have an answer though.

Hi I keep two hermanns tortoises but the needs are very similar, I keep mine in a tortoise table that I made myself, out of a plastic under storage bed draw, they need a uv light and a heat lamp. tortoises need to be fed on weeds and not store bought salads, any more advice just let me know...

I just had the ceramic media in there, it didnt bother or do any thing to my frog, he lived in there for 2 months, he now has a friend and they live in my larger tank. I had real plants in mine too.

one last question, if there is a smaller water volume and it sits on top of the larger tank, the water should be warm from the heat from the heat given off by the tank. If not I will find a heater. also what should the watts be on the heater? Becky

I take it you turn the light off at night? I have guppy fry (born last night) and swordtail fry. Can I just go and buy a gold fish bowl and that we be ok? of something smaller? becky

It did say in the pack it was black sand, but I know what you mean, I bought the tank second hand and the ornaments came with it, I hated them too, but on a temp basis I left them there. The plants are all real. Im please with the outcome. Thanks for the comments Becky
