As most of you know Gromit died this week.. Yesterday I become the proud owner of a Hairy mushroom (thanks Tina, he is called hairy) & a sun coral (wil be call sunny). I am worried about the sun coral. It has not come out yet. So I don't know if he is a duff one or not. Not too sure where I...

Hi, got th Sun coral yesterday. Two 2 hours to aclimatise them. but they still have not open up. Feed the fish etc on brim shrimp & wafted some over & no response. How long did it take for you sun corals to show their selves?

They look like a cracking addition to any tank. I do like the purple one.

HI Tina, Good pictures as always. Thanks for the idea of the hairy mushroom. Was deivered yesterday bright luminous green about an inch in size. Its looking great.

Its only £5 so I thought I wuld give it a go. It says on the wesite "This is also a great way to calibrate Refractometers...

I did get it checked couple of weeks ago & they sold me that purple up rubbish.... But will go with your advice :good: But I will do the water change tonight & test again in morning. Just a climatising hairy mushroom & sun coral.

Hi, right. I ave checked my refractormetre & its correct. Stats: before water change: KH 10 MG 1230 Ca 380 In bucket KH 9 MG 1500 (took the lot) Ca 440 I am in the of the water change but it looks like a need to do a hugh water change...

Just to finish off the comedy show of last night (I would like to point out I was not drinking, but maybe I should of). I measure 960ml of RO water, heated it to 20 degrees, added two table spoons of salt.... Checked with neat RO water that the Refractormetre was on zero, & the reading I got...

I am soooooo thick..... I have just spent an hour trying to work out the best way to get 36g out of salt from a teaspoon (6.2g), when underneath in the info big C put on a tablespoon is 18.2g which 2 of them make 36.4g. I would also like to point out I am an accountant.

So, to make it plain & simple, to 1 lt of water at 20degress add 26g in salf (I presume any type of seasalt) will equal 35%?? I like it plain & simple. I want to check mine even though the LFS said it was ok.

Thanks Big C. The test kit did not come today, actually I will restate that, the postman came & left a note trhrough the door. My wife whio promised me she would not go out till he arrive went out for 3 hrs... So off to the post office in the morning. So what I will do: I will do what you say...

Test kit for Mags being delievered today. So will be testing Ca, Mags & KH staright away & putting result on here. At teh moment corals wise I only have Zoas & Rics, which seem to be doing great.

Hellie is brilliant & has alot of character, I can sit back & watch him for hours. He is very comical. Don't count him out. What I do now, is get my wife to give abit of food, when light come on now & thus have not lost a snail to hellie since.

I go with Seffie with the hawkfish but make sure you feed him well or else you will lose snails :shout:

I may see if I can put my video camera on it, its got a 3 hrs battery & 16hrs recording. Hopefully see it coming out of its shell, well heres hoping...
