I recommend EHeim externals as I have used a few and never had a problem.    I havent had the ecco pro range but Eheim on a whole are very good in my opinion

Thanks Bodge99   installed the new ballast today and working brilliantly    I found quite a few areas that worried me were possibly not 100% water tight so I have sealed any suspect areas and now await it to cure.    and then finally my fishies will have a proper light again    Thanks again Bodge

Hi evreryone have just opened up my Jewel Rio 240's light unit as it failed. And I have found water inside. The unit has been on my tank for a while without bulbs in it. Is it possible that the water crept through the holes where the bulbs would have been? Or has it just got a hole somewhere...
