Thank you, today I tested nitrites and nitrates... The ammonia was somewhere between 3ppm and 4ppm, nitrites were zero and imma guess the nitrates were 2-3ppm... The color sheet they give you only has 0ppm and 5ppm as their lowest resultsYou're off to a good start. Patience, patience, patience leads to a successful cycling.

I thought you'd learned to soak the wood beforehand, so that it stayed submerged?This was after I dumped water in and all the decor went everywhere... I tried to fix it but the wood floats so ya know...
