Breeding My Discus

big bummer! important thing is you havent lost any yet. hopefullly the bounce back quickly :/

I just spent 4 hours getting everything clean and shinny again......It gave me a chance to make some slight adjustments, so it actually looks even better for it. So I guess it wasn't all doom and gloom

It is quite a stunning tank :)

Thanks, but yesterday it was a shocking tank. I nearly died when I saw it! I had more diatoms than plants, rocks and glass combined! I had to drain it down and scrub everything today. Toothbrush all the plants and then dip them in a bleach solution, then reassemble everything. Anyway, all good now, and I have a pair of blue turks getting it on big time now. So I might take those two and give them a go in the breeding tank tomorrow. They are a very mature couple and should be much easier than the young Pigeon Bloods. The male is a bit ordinary, but his wife is rather pretty

I am setting up the love nest today. I thought I would help out the fry this time by giving 3 sides and the base of the tank a lick of white paint.............now I am all dizzy and high on paint fumes

Is that just normal spray paint? Last time I painted glass I primered it first.....derp looked good on the outside but the inside was the wrong colour:blink:

Can't wait to see the babies

Just white primer, so it is just a flat white when viewed from inside. So I have set it up in my bedroom, against a white wall!!!!!!! So that the painting was a waste of time.........If I had a brain I'd be dangerous

OK, so I have shifted the other pair, and they started dancing the tango after about 30 minutes.......stopped when I went to take their pic

Thanks man....I will keep it updated. Fingers crossed with this pair, but I think they will be ok as they are much more mature than the Pigeon Bloods. I think I need to be patient with my Pigeons and grow them on a bit more.

Just spent the last 40 minutes reading this entire topic :D

I got to say what an awesome read, i was hooked after page 1, i'm sorry about your previous attempts, and applaud your patience and dedication for carrying on.

Good luck with the latest pair, i really hope it turns out good this time round.

+1 watching topic
