Breeding My Discus

I was down the fish farm today and bagged a used breeding cone off them.....all covered in fishy pheromones

So I switched it out with the pot and they started getting jiggy straight away. There is now some very aggressive cleaning going on, even man fish has been doing it....he must really need some girl action! I expect a second batch of eggs in a few hours from now.

Now they are laying again, and it looks like my boy is really on it this time. He is all over her, so I hope his love butter is a little stronger this time

. I can't yet see the egg volume, as they are at it behind the bike shed, and I also do not want them to think I am a peeking Tom! So I will leave them in private for now.

Thanks mate, I never want a brood so bad as I do from these two. They are the best pair I have ever had. Only thing is their young age and the fact that they have never had any fry.......Oh do I ever want this to work out. I never put so much effort in. They're in my kitchen, and both I and my girlfriend are so hungry, but it is a no go zone right now!

Put up a curtain and close it, dim the lights, put on some adult film music. The fish should feel right in the mood then....then they will ignore you while you go in the kitchen to get food lol

Looks like we have about 100 eggs this time, which ain't bad for the young ones. I stuck the guard on, added some Formalin(to prevent fungus forming on the eggs) and upped the air input to get the water circulating. Fingers crossed!
