Ah!... yes... I forgot about this topic when I placed my new topic on my new house.... I'll transfer the info and then also wait for photos not yet posted by the newer members.... Show us where you live.....

I currently live about 50km from work and being on permanent standby, I decided to get a place a little closer to work.... I got the keys today and will be moving during the next 3 weeks... (this place is about 3km from work. The place has a lot of plusses for it, but unfortunately only one enclosed garage... and although 3 bathrooms... none with a shower in it.

This is the driveway up to the house from the main gate.

Also from the main gate towards the house....

View from the back yard to the main gate with the outbuildings (servants quarters and garage) to the left and the house to the right.... My car is at the main gates

A fish room and servants quarters, by heck you live a grand life Ludwig

Nah!!... servant's quarters is a standard accessory to most all (99%) of South African homes..... Since I do not have a "live-in" maid, I'm using this section as my fish room..... and as I've said... the enclosed stoep area will also become a fish room and the garage, (allthough single garage) will also have some fish and this yard is huge, so I'll increase the number of ponds..... All in good time.

Picture of my poor tatty garden after all the recent snow. Next door neighbours kids ball in the pond to stop it freezing (didn't work)

Cant wait for spring. Will get more pictures of house soon.

And in the meantime, we've had many new members join...... Bumping this for them to add pics of their abodes.... Allways interesting to see houses and homes from other countries.

A picture of my living room

As you can see, all the essentials, flat screen and surround sound, the chair was a luxury item!

Personally, I'll chuck out the wall clock and change the chair for a (lay down)sofa, or blanket......

Your correct, why stand up when you can sit down, and why sit down when you can lie down!

You've all got really nice houses!

Typical council property here, Can't afford our own property and I am not ashamed to own up to that fact either, We don't want to live in debt for the rest of our lives, worrying about mortgages and such like.

I have only a picture of the outside - It's an absolute bomb site inside (with 5 children under 7, I'm sure you'll understand why..or rather who happened, lol!)

We don't have that car or caravan anymore, lol - It's quite an old photograph.

Maybe add some of the inside at a later date :D

No reason to be ashamed..... It is what you call "Home".... and from the photos.... it looks very homely..... thanks for sharing it with us.....

This thread is not about mansions and status.... it is about seeing the world in perspective..... every post here, takes me on a cross country (international) trip and it narrows down on the similarities we all share worldwide......

In all of my 4/5000 odd posts on this forum, this one has been the most enjoyable and satisfactory experience...... seeing different cultures ultimately unified under the common umbrella of humanity..... we are all people and despite our location and traditional differences, I am you, and you are me..... Our needs are the same.....

Here are a few updated photos of my garden taken today....... Show us your house and garden.... (inside & out)
